The Story Behind Blue Tree
Three or four days a week the neighbor would let his sheep out on the hill (unseen in the distance). I couldn't see the sheep, but I could hear their brass bells clanking as they trod almost single file down the same path they followed everyday they were let out to graze on this hill.
In the heat of the day, the sheep would also cluster to rest under the shadow of one of the oaks at the bottom of the hill; all under one tree with perhaps one leg protruding into the sunlight.

Fog and mist on spring mornings in the Alentejo are not a surprise. A blue morning; soon the sheep will come baa-ing down the hill.
